RESCUE STORIES

Meet Linus.  When Linus entered rescue he was only two weeks old and weighed in at six ounces.  He was so small that one of his foster mother's carried him in her shirt pocket.  Early prognosis for Linus was critical.  He appeared to have a small hole in his skull head which can lead to water on the brain.  Additionally, his back legs were under developed due to a birth defect.  The hole in his skull grew completely closed and he learned to manuever on his back legs despite his handicap.

Now Linus is a year an a half old and a very active young man.  Linus's story is one that someday we may submit for Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul.  He was recently adopted by a wonderful family in Green Bay, WI by a family who decided it was more important to have a loving little man around the house regardless of his appearance.

Linus didn't know the meaning of limitation.  He taught himself to go up and down the two steps to get in an out of the house, he romped and played and yes, even ran.  His favorite passion was ripping apart toys and wrestling with the other foster dogs.  Now that he is with his forever family, I am very happy to report he loves his family and definitely brings joy to all those he meets.

We are very thankful that Linus's will to not only survive, but thrive outweighed any of our imaginations, including the team of veterinarians we consulted through out his foster care.

We love you wittle man!!!!!
